You might want to start a new game for this one, as some challenges are pretty... wide. For example, you'll have to run from Vault 101 to Rivet City without wearing armor and without using any weapons. Or save Sheriff Sims from Mr. Burke by taking the bullet yourself. Here's 40 Things To Do in Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 National Guard Depot Top Floor
Things To Do in Fallout 3: Collect all Bobbleheads
National Guard Depot: National Guard Armory, sitting on a shelf in the sealed storage room in the basement. The switch for the utility door to access the armory is found on the 3rd floor that can only be reached by going through the Depot Training Wing and Depot Offices. Because it's easier to have courage from a safe distance away. The Keller Family sought refuge inside the National Guard Depot when the bombs hit. You can collect 5 holotapes throughout the Wastes that each contain one number in the entry code. The five number code can then be used to enter the National Guard Depot Armory. Fallout 3 Bunker Access Code
Ive spent the past 3 (no wait, just looked at the time) 4 days in this ONE area. Its been driving me nuts that I couldnt figure it out. I just could NOT go on with the game untill I was able to get into that door in the basement of the National Guard Depot.
The first door is locked. Was a little bit tricky, but I finally found my way to the switch that opens it. Once you throw the switch, you hear some sort of warning alarm go off and the 2 lights by the door turn on to which inside that room is a pesky robot. A few pulse nades take care of him.
Once inside that room, you find yet, another switch but no visable door......Thats because once you throw the switch, the floor opens up to a stairwell. Down the stairwell and thru another door, you find yourself in an Armory. Stock up fella's, theres a shit load of guns and ammo there......AND, you find a Bobblehead (small guns if im not mistaking). After you fill your inventory with loot, you find another door, this time with a computer you have to access....and this is where I started pulling out my hair (after the 3rd/4th day of messing with this).
The computer tells you that you do not have access to open this doorway/or says something to the fact 'this door is opened elsewhere'....something along those lines....
I searched HIGH, I searched low. I looked all around this damn depot for some switch I missed. Ive been cooped up in this one depot for so long, I started to feel sick. I kept telling myself that there MUST be a way to access that damn door, they (Bethsada) wouldnt have just put it there for no reason......WTF!!!! Id get home the next night, spend time with the wife, kids....wait for them to go to bed and then BACK to the damn depot. I just could not get this out of my head.....What was I missing????
I am not the kind of gamer who goes out and googles things about a game that I cant figure out.....Ive always been able to figure things out. I dont use cheats or mods to help me play the game either. I like playing the game the way it was meant to be played.....but this place.....GAHHHHHHHH!!!!! I KNOW every damn inch of it by now and I know for damn sure, I didnt miss any damn switch. Sooo, unfortunately, I broke down my friends......Yeap.....I couldnt stand it any longer. I HAD to know what it was I was missing or doing wrong.....So, for the first time ever, I looked something up for a game. Yeap, I cheated......DAMN THIS GAME!!!! It made me cheat, LOLOL.
Then, once I found out what I was supposed to do.....I got mad. I got REAL mad. I could just kick someones ass at Bethsada for this one, im talkin total size 11 shoe, square up someones ass.
The answer to this door puzzle is so F#$%IN LAME......I would NEVER have figured it out.....Unless of course, I just happened to have found all 5 of the Keller Tapes before finding this depot.......Yes my friends......You MUST have all 5 of the tapes to enter that DAMN ROOM!!!!!
I was sooo annoyed when I read this I felt like nuking the game itself. Hell, even the CTD I get sometimes never annoyed me this much.
To top it off, the only thing you really get out of the room for some good loot is that gun which shoots 8 nukes at a time and to TOP that off, you HAVE to have 8 nukes to use it. It doesnt just shoot one nuke at a time, MUST HAVE 8.
Damn game. Heh. 4 freakin days of my life and for what....A nuke gun I'll probably never use.
I love the game, but hate some of the lame ways of doing some of the things.
End Rant.....Enjoy your M.I.R.V.
